Vegas at almost 50!
Vegas is always a blast at any age but the vibes transform. At 20, we partied hard at the clubs til daybreak, on a budget now we wake up at daybreak because our bodies are used to waking up for the daily grind, lol! At 30, Vegas was a fusion of wanting to still party hard but wanting to be a bit more sophisticated. At 46, a more low key vibe was perfect, exquisite restaurants, an alluring suite with all amenities needed and want.
Day 1 was cancelled because many flights were cancelled due to an expected storm. Why would they cancel more than 24 hours before? They, would be “ #JetBlue.” Whether changes constantly and so unpredictable with global warming Make a long story short, it rained but during original flight time no rain, no winds, apparently a Microsoft outage which created such chaos in a world of technology dependence. Hotels were checking guest in on pen and paper.
My stay at #cosmopolitanlasvegas was superb, it was immaculated clean, modern and unique with balconies. Balconies in Vegas are a “dime a dozen”, so rare majority of guest have never stayed in a Vegas room with a balcony. Cosmopolitan’s balconies are a fabulous additions to sit and relax after a long day at the pool, to watch the sunrise after hours of hitting on the Buffalo or Wheel of Fortune slot machines. If you want a lounger chair by the pool, you must be an early bird. Unless you rent a cabana or bed by the pool, there is a food & beverage limit but so worth it! Waitress service was on point and uber pleasant. Although, after attempting to request a late checkout because flight was late, I was told to call in the am to request day off. When I did, I was told “no” because they were fully booked. But women at the front desk offered me a room at full price vs. a smaller portion for a few hours. Therefore, they could have ben more accommodating since obviously they had rooms and I was willing to pay for a few hours vs. 1 entire day.
Las Vegas has some of the finest restaurants which at almost 50 we can afford and relish every savoring flavors. This time ago, we went to Tao, Prime, and Carbone for dinner, need I say anymore! All restaurants have their own personality, Tao is trendy, Ocean Prime is modern sophisticated and @Carbone_lv is Old Hollywood Glam and we loved them all for their own reasons. Some of my groups favorites;
Tao Las Vegas at Venetian Hotel - Hot Edamame, Imperial Vegetable Egg Roll, Miso Glazed Chilean Sea Bass with Wok Vegetables, Crispy Orange Chicken, Filet Mignon Pepper Steak, Lobster and Kim Chee Fried Rice
Ocean Prime Las Vegas - Crisp Iceberg House Salad, Roasted Chicken, Sea Scallops, Baked Lobster Mac & Cheese, Parmesan Truffle Fries, Miso-Chili Roasted Broccoli
Carbone at Aria Resort & Casino - Calamari Marco, Caesar alla ZZ, Spicy Rigatoni Vodka, Lobster Ravioli, Shrimp Su’modo, Broccoli Rabe
All restaurants had the absolute remarkable service, all felt like long-time friends. Fine dining in Las Vegas is definitely an experience everyone should indulge in.
Las Vegas shows are a whole other ball game! If you love 80’s & 90’s Hip Hop, DJ Cassidy’s Pass the Mic lead by the modern version of, “The Rat Pack”, Ja Rule, Fat Joe, Slick Rick, Doug E Fresh and special guest like Remy Ma, who absolutely killed it along Fat Joe with their classic hits like, “ All The Way Up”. This residency should have a longer stay in Las Vegas for the people who love Hip Hop. Trust this show did NOT disappointment at all!
Las Vegas is always an unforgettable experience no matter what age you are, so book your next adventure.
